Condals Group has celebrated its 50th anniversary with a special event at Celler Abadal, bringing together nearly 350 attendees, including employees, suppliers, partners and guests. The gathering provided an opportunity to look back on the company’s origins, recognise the people who have made its evolution possible and share its vision for the future.
Since its founding in 1976, the company has evolved into an industrial group with nearly 300 professionals and production facilities in Manresa, Spain, and Slovakia, operating as Condals Foundry and SKC Foundry. Specialising in metal casting and manufacturing, the group offers solutions covering foundry operations, machining, finishing and advanced quality control services, including industrial computed tomography.
50 years of history and new challenges ahead
The celebration featured contributions from Miquel Sallés, President and Founder; Eduard Sallés, CEO; Rosa Sallés, Chief Financial Officer; and Rafa Macías, a member of the Condals Group team, who reflected on the company’s journey and shared its vision for the years ahead.
One of the group’s key priorities is to move towards a more sustainable industry through more efficient production processes, reduced emissions and the use of renewable energy. Condals Group is also committed to market diversification, digitalisation, the application of artificial intelligence and exploring new opportunities for international expansion.
A challenge to keep climbing together
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the Condals Everesting Challenge by Núria Picas, world ultratrail champion and winner of the 2017 UTMB. Developed in collaboration with Everesting, a platform specialising in sporting challenges based on cumulative elevation gain, the initiative aims to bring employees together through a shared goal.
The challenge will unite teams from Manresa and Slovakia to achieve a combined 442,400 metres of elevation gain, equivalent to climbing the height of Mount Everest 50 times. Over the course of one month, participants organised into 14 teams will contribute by walking, running, cycling or climbing stairs, tracking their progress through the Everesting app.
More than just a sporting challenge, the initiative represents collective effort and teamwork. Because «some mountains are simply too high to climb alone.»
A celebration to remember
The event concluded with a lunch, a commemorative toast and a live performance by the cover band The Jirous. To mark the occasion, attendees received a Sizzler, a cast-iron skillet manufactured at Condals’ own foundry, designed for cooking and serving food while retaining heat. This unique gift reflects the versatility of the casting process and the group’s ambition to explore new products and opportunities for diversification.
Through this celebration, Condals Group reaffirms the values that have guided it throughout its history: commitment to people, innovation and sustainability; collaboration with local businesses and strong ties to the region; and excellence as a driving force for continuous improvement.
50 years of history. One team. And many more challenges to overcome together.
